Some of our friends have missed out on heading to spa treatments and massages on trips as they're typically known as lavish activities. However, basic spa and massage treatments on this island usually cost around 80-200 RM. Meanwhile, more elaborate therapies can range from 300 RM to 600 RM or more.

You can even find hidden gems that offer treatments for less than 100 RM. From the price range we've mentioned, you can see why we fell in love spa treatments in here. It's definitely cheaper than Kuala Lumpur and some of the top services come close to the spas in Ubud.

Thankfully, this island is graced with multiple healing centres at every corner. So, there is a spot to cater to everyone's budget. With so many options available, we've prepared a complete guide to the best ones, guaranteeing you utter relaxation..

Shangri La's Rasa Sayang Resort makes one of the best Penang spa hotels for those seeking relaxation and romantic getaways. If you're staying at Golden Sands next door, you can also unwind and rejuvenate at CHI, The Spa secluded within the Rasa Sayang resort. They offer a variety of treatments, such as aromatherapy and stone therapy. Furthermore, the treatments start from 358 RM, and you can easily book an appointment online. 

We like that you can also choose either male or female therapists for their sessions. So, you can enjoy your time comfortably and according to your preferences. This healing spot caters to individual relaxation and also provides rooms for a couple spa sessions. So, you can share this relaxing experience with a friend or partner. 

Our favourite is the Asian Blend Massage, which incorporates traditional Asian techniques. This treatment includes Thai pressure points, Chinese energy flow, and Malaysian and Balinese strokes. However, if you're sore or tense from exploring the old town, we recommend deep tissue healing. 

Of course, as the in-house spa of a 5-star resort, they also have add-ons to enhance your experience. For example, they have a rattan tapping enhancement that's meant to stimulate blood flow and circulation to your muscles. Although we didn't try this, maybe it's something for you.

Pinang Spa House (Best Massage in Georgetown)

This is the best Georgetown massage spot for a cheap foot massage. Furthermore, the Georgetown spa is well-known for its premium traditional Malay-influenced massages with lemongrass oil. The spa is nestled in a heritage building and is decorated to appear like Malay kampung rooms. Ultimately, it is the ideal Penang massage house to visit if you seek a relaxing Malay-influenced healing experience.

This delightful Penang spa house accepts walk-in clients, but we suggest booking an appointment to secure your session. Booking is relatively hassle-free. All you need to do is send them a message via WhatsApp. Their treatments start from 70 RM, which includes a relaxing full-body massage. The duration for each treatment varies as this spot offers treatments tailored for each individual.

Their pain-targeting therapies will give you one of the best full-body massages on the island. However, we highly recommend trying their foot and shoulder massage whenever you're in the mood for a quick pick-me-up. 

Overall, the Penang massage service here was one of the best we've gotten, and our experience was nothing short of wholesome. Moreover, their staff were friendly and fulfilled all our needs during our therapeutic session.

E&O Penang Spa (Best Head Massage)

Another Penang spa hotel with one of the best massage spas in Penang is the Eastern & Oriental Hotel. Also known as Panpuri Organic Spa, this spot offers an array of therapeutic packages to entertain relaxation seekers. 

From 4-hour long to quick 30-minute therapies, they will lavish you with a soothing pampering session. Additionally, you can treat yourself to a facial spa besides body treatments. The treatments start from 291 RM and go up to 1,100 RM. 

Those who seek a full rejuvenation experience should opt for their best-selling 'Complete Renewal' package. And if you plan to go with a friend or a partner, their Couple's Ritual package would also be an excellent choice. Furthermore, this meditative spot provides the best head massage services. We particularly enjoyed their one-hour-long Clarifying Indian Head Massage. 

Besides that, you can also fill your tummies with delectable eats from one of E&O Hotel's restaurants. The hotel houses four dining spots and a bar to stop by before or after your appointment.

De Villa (Best Full Body Massages)

Head to De Villa for the best massage spa in Penang for full-body therapies. They offer extensive treatment options that suit different preferences and needs. For example, they provide lymphatic dry brushing, gua sha, herbal compress, and stone therapy. You can also try their facial massage, increasing blood circulation and reducing puffiness around your face. In addition, each package comes with a soothing and aromatic ginger tea to complement the therapy. 

Despite the lavish packages, the treatments offered start from 68 RM up to 300 RM. Hence, it is one of the good cheap massage places on the island. Moreover, it provides discounts for members so you can pamper yourself at a cheaper price with a membership. Furthermore, the facilities are well-maintained at this healing spot.

This was a harder spot to book on our trip as they were the least responsive to messages and seemed like the most booked. However, after changing our own schedule, we managed to get a slot to try out their Signature Javanese Oil Massage and Aromatherapy Oil Massage. The former is ideal for loosening stiff muscles, whereas the latter is an effective stress-relieving therapy. However, if you want to recharge yourself with a thorough healing session, we recommend 'Urutan Malaysia'. This package incorporates Indian head therapy, Chinese Qi Gong breathing, and Malaysian Herbal Foot Soak. 

Thai Best Massage Penang (Best Late Night Massage)

End your exploration of Penang's nightlife with a blissful session at this spa in Penang, Georgetown. This spot is a late-night massage spa that opens until midnight daily. They offer plenty of treatments that start from 65 RM, and besides full packages, you can go for ala-carte treatments. 

Professional masseuses from Thailand will provide the services. Although they specialise in Thai therapies, the masseuses are also skilled in Malaysian-style treatments.

This was originally a recommendation from a family friend. He mentioned it's his favourite spot for some late-night spa activities in Penang. We recommend getting one of their VIP Packages since you'll get multiple treatments at a cheaper price. Our go-to option is the 30-minute foot massage with an hour of Thai Therapy. You can choose a longer session, but this is enough to alleviate any sore muscles after a long day.

Moreover, children are also welcomed here as they provide child reflexology. Therefore, it is the best place to visit after walking around George Town with your family.

Danai Spa (Best Ayurvedic Massage)

The best massage spa in Penang for Ayurvedic massages is Danai Spa. Their amazing treatments are available at many branches across the island for your convenience. However, we think the best branch is in Tanjung Bungah because of their phenomenal service. 

Furthermore, it is close to the hidden Penang beach, Tanjung Bungah Beach. So, you can stop by the picturesque beach while you're in the area. 

Getting an Ayurvedic treatment is one of our favourite spa activities in Penang, and this spot has been one of our go-to. They provide a holistic approach to every treatment they offer, including their medical treatments, which start from 200 RM. 

We highly recommend trying their unique Meridian Zenflow Therapy besides the traditional healing services. It employs a specialised Zenflow Magnetic Qi-Trident tool and also essential oils to activate your body's acupressure points. This stimulation alleviates the blockages in your meridian flow and improves blood circulation. 

Cititel Hotel (Affordable Penang Spa Massage)

If you want a Penang spa massage in a grand hotel, this is the best spa in Penang for that. Located on Cititel Hotel's third floor, The Wellness Centre has clean facilities and professional staff. Moreover, the treatments here start from 100 RM. However, only hotel guests can enjoy them. Therefore, you will need to book a hotel room to gain access to their treatments. 

We were delighted to find that The Wellness Centre is a late-night massage spa. It opens until midnight, so hotel guests can easily drop by for a therapeutic session before ending the day. Our experience at the healing centre was wonderful as we enjoyed the reflexology therapies. For example, the deep tissue treatment will leave you feeling healed and recharged.  

Furthermore, this healing place offers facial treatments that incorporate natural ingredients. Additionally, there are many facilities, including a sauna, jacuzzi, and steam room. So, we didn't waste the opportunity to check them out. To our delight, they were comfortable and well-maintained. If all the pampering leaves you hungry, try the famous Penang Road Laksa, located within walking distance of the hotel.

PARKROYAL Penang Resort (Best Penang Spa Resort)

As the best Penang spa resort, PARKROYAL Resort offers immaculate treatments with stunning views. It houses a wellness centre known as St. Gregory on the hotel's first level.

Moreover, this healing spot is accompanied by a lovely sight of the hotel's green garden. So if you're looking for a calming sight while enjoying your treatment, this makes the best spa in Penang for you. However, only hotel guests have access to this relaxing space.  

Furthermore, the offered treatments start from 80 RM, making it among the most affordable wellness centres. They also cater to children with child-friendly treatments like their full body and foot treatment. Therefore, parents staying at this Penang spa resort can also give their children a wholesome pampering session.

Our favourite Penang spa package here is the 60-minute Traditional Malay Urut treatment, which was memorable. It involves a combination of techniques like stretching and kneading strokes that help relieve stiff muscles. This pain-targeting treatment is ideal, especially if you are seeking effective muscle pain and stress relief. Ultimately, the healing hands of their skilled therapist will take you to a state of unparalleled tranquillity.

DoubleTree Hilton Penang Spa

Situated east of Batu Ferringhi, DoubleTree Resort by Hilton is home to a tranquil spot known as The Spacation. This relaxing establishment provides treatments starting from 100 RM and up to 400 RM. 

Although the hotel is constantly bustling with tourists due to its popularity, the healing spot maintains its tranquillity. Therefore, guests can enjoy the treatments in peace with no disruption. 

You will need a hotel reservation to book a session at the healing centre. We tried the Raja and Ratu Sehari treatment during our stay there. The session involved steam, body scrubs, traditional Malay treatments, and foot reflexology. However, if you want to include a facial spa, get the A Day in Sparadise package. This Penang spa package offers a hot stone treatment and an aroma facial. 

Guests can also get a nail pampering session if they want to skip indulging in full-body treatments. Another highlight of this place is the high-end ingredients used in their treatments. For example, they use brands such as Elemis, L'Occitane, and Jurlique. So, you can expect to be pampered with only the finest tools and ingredients. 

Lucky Blind Massage in Penang

Make your way to Lucky Blind Foot Reflexology for an interesting experience. As the name suggests, this healing establishment is run by blind masseurs who are experts in reflexology techniques. 

Moreover, the place is famous for providing body rubs and foot reflexology at a super affordable price. Their treatments start from 25 RM and do not go beyond RM 100. So, Lucky Blind is the best place to go if you're looking for a full-body treatment at a reasonable price.

While we didn't get to experience this ourselves, we were highly recommended this spot by a friendly backpacker we met. From his experience, he was satisfied with their Foot Reflexology and Head and Shoulder package.

Furthermore, the treatments do not take over an hour. So, stop by this place if you want a quick massage in Penang, Georgetown. If you're looking for something a bit different to try, this is among the best things to do in Penang.

Siam Paradise Foot Spa (Top Reflexology Spa)

Visit Siam Paradise for the best reflexology on the island with an authentic Siamese ambience. It is the best spot for reflexology and has been our go-to spot for some delightful foot rubs. Their treatments start from 78 RM, making it another affordable local health parlour. Moreover, Siam Paradise extends its services until midnight, so you can have late-night rejuvenation.

In addition, this place is situated near the famous Chowrasta outdoor market and the street art districts on the island. So, their reflexology service is what we usually get after a full day of walking around the town. 

Although they are renowned for reflexology, they also present a variety of treatments, such as herbal therapy and aromatherapy. You can try the Siam Paradise Signature Treatment for a complete recharging experience. It includes a 90-minute Thai massage and also an hour of foot reflexology.

Furthermore, Reflexology Siam Paradise is located in the heart of the town. Therefore, it provides an opportunity to explore the city and discover the best cafes in Penang. You can sip and bite some good treats nearby after your Penang spa massage.

Hard Rock Penang Spa (Music Centric)

Music lovers will find that The Rock Spa at Hard Rock Hotel is the best spa in Penang. As endorsed by the establishment itself, they add a musical touch to the traditional full-body treatments. Their extensive range of unique therapies starts from 75 RM. 

Moreover, children can enjoy a selection of enjoyable treatments designed for them. Hence, you and your family can partake in the one-of-a-kind experience here. 

Furthermore, you can choose for either an indoor or outdoor rejuvenation experience. An outdoor treatment lets you pamper yourself in a serene garden with Balinese ambience. On the other hand, an indoor treatment will take you to a room adorned with a blend of contemporary and traditional decor. We usually opt for the outdoors as we prefer taking in the surrounding views during our treatments. 

We recommend trying any of their Rhythm & Motion packages for the best experience. You will experience a massage that synchronises with the beat of your favourite songs. The treatment left us completely amazed and is certainly a must-try. Appointments can be set through their official website and do not require hotel reservations. Therefore, you can easily stop by the place for an unwinding session. 

LexSpa at Lexis Suite

Another Penang spa hotel worth visiting is Lexis Suite, which houses a healing centre on the eighth floor. It is one of the best places to get a massage in Bayan Lepas. With well-trained therapists and well-kept equipment, this establishment will give you the revitalisation you deserve. 

They provide an array of treatments that start from 180 RM, including facial treatments and body detoxes. Moreover, you don't even need a hotel room reservation to enjoy them.

This spa in Bayan Lepas also showcases the surroundings of the sea and beachfront from their session rooms. The warmed-toned room will make you feel tranquil as you enjoy their treatment. Try their Ocean Magnesium treatment. It's a special Penang spa massage that uses marine ingredients to reduce stress and alleviate muscle stiffness. 

Apart from that, they also offer exclusive packages for you to unwind yourself to. Additionally, you can head there for traditional treatments. So, if you enjoy Malaysian rituals, the Signature Massage would be ideal. 

Penang Tower Spa (Best Couple Spa)

Sitting on the 67th floor of the island's tallest building, Tower Spa offers various treatments within a unique setting. Their top-notch amenities and picturesque vistas will set all your problems aside and grant you total serenity. 

It is also the best Penang massage spot for couples, as they offer luxurious couple treatments that are truly worthwhile. Treatments start from 128 RM, and all of them are conducted in grand and huge treatment rooms.

We tried the My Love package involving an aromatic sea salt foot ritual, dry brushing, a bath, and a massage. This 2.5-hour session gave us an unparalleled healing experience, but the highlight was the 30-minute seashell jacuzzi bath. The Taiwanese seashells are held up to the ears so you can enjoy the sound of the sea while bathing. Besides the calming sound of the seashells, you will also enjoy a stunning view of the city.

Despite being the best spot for couples, this healing place also provides solo treatments. Therefore, you can still indulge in the marvels the place offers on your own. You can even experience the same seashell bath included in the couple package within the Seashell Energizing Bath treatment.

Imperial Thai Massage

There's no 24-hour massage spa in Penang, but this is one of our go-to's for late-night healing. With a clean and cosy environment, it is among the best places to check out for the best Penang massage. Their treatments are also quite affordable, from 85 RM to 190 RM. 

You must try their Imperial Authentic Oil Massage. During the session, you even get pampered with a Thai-style deep massage with yoga stretching. Also try their Swedish massage, which further helped loosen the knots on our shoulders and backs. With their affordable pricing, we highly recommend getting this treatment if you seek to relieve your muscle tensions.

Since the establishment is on Burma Road, you can also go on a Penang street food hunt before or after your treatment. This road is the best spot to find Apom, a crispy Indian pancake that you can enjoy plain. Alternatively, you can also check out the famous Swatow Lane Ice Kacang for some sweet and refreshing shaved ice desserts.
